Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has expressed his contentment with life in Glasgow, praising the team’s style of play and his own performances. Since joining on a free transfer in the summer, the 38-year-old Danish international has been instrumental in Brendan Rodgers’ side, keeping 11 clean sheets in 18 appearances.

He continued, highlighting the team’s progress: “We’re off to a good start, but it’s not about how you start. I can’t complain. We are playing really good football… The last week has been characterised by our team. In pre-season we beat City and Chelsea, and then we’ve taken it further and beat Leipzig in the Champions League. We’re in a good place and we can play many different types of games.”
Regarding his contract situation, Schmeichel remains relaxed, with his current deal expiring next summer and an option for an additional year. “One thing at a time. It’s an option for another year, but we’ll decide at some point next year,” he stated.
While Celtic fans are enthusiastic about Schmeichel’s performances, it’s premature to speculate about his contract renewal. With the goalkeeper still in the early stages of his Celtic career, a decision will likely be made next year, involving input from both Schmeichel and the club.
