Rangers Boss Philippe Clement Cites Celtic Star as Example for His Attackers

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has emphasized the need for patience with his attacking players, citing Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn as a prime example. Clement’s comments come as Rangers struggle to find the back of the net, having scored fewer goals than Dundee, St Mirren, and Dundee United this season.

The Ibrox club’s lack of goals has been a major concern, and Clement is eager to rectify the situation. He believes that his new forward players need time to find their clinical streak, just like Kuhn did after a difficult start to his Celtic career.

“I want us to score more goals – that’s a major one,” Clement said. “We don’t concede much, but we have to score more goals and be more lethal in the final third. You always want to be better, but in the last couple of weeks, we’ve had a lot of good chances that were saved.

“We also have a lot of new players in that area, so we need to find connections. I don’t want to make comparisons too much with other teams, but the better offensive player on the other side of the town (Kuhn) wasn’t starting there last season. He needed time after the transfer to get his rhythm, to get this connection with other players.

“We’re working on that with all these guys, and it’s about small details. It’s about getting confidence and getting the goals. We’re creating more and more chances, and that’s the way it has to continue.”
