Leeds United Target Lennon Miller as Dream Midfield Signing
Leeds United are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Motherwell’s promising central midfielder, Lennon Miller. The 18-year-old Scottish sensation has been impressing scouts with his performances in the Scottish Premiership, and Leeds are eager to bring him on board.
According to The Boot Room, Leeds have been sending scouts to monitor Miller’s progress, but they face stiff competition from several top-tier clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Brighton. Rangers and Celtic are also keen on keeping the youngster in Scotland, while Atalanta and Bologna are reportedly interested in luring him to Serie A.
Motherwell are said to be demanding a fee of around £5 million for their prized asset, a sum that Leeds may need to push to secure his signature. However, if successful, Miller could prove to be a dream signing for Leeds midfielder Ao Tanaka.
Tanaka has been an exemplary performer for Leeds, boasting a 92% pass completion rate and averaging 3.5 tackles and interceptions per game. However, he has yet to score or provide an assist from midfield, highlighting the need for a creative partner to complement his skills.
Miller’s statistics suggest he could be the ideal candidate to fill this void. In 13 Premiership appearances, he has scored two goals, created six big chances, and provided four assists. His key passes per game average of 2.0 is significantly higher than Tanaka’s 0.8.
Pundit James McFadden has described Miller as a “ridiculous” talent, and his potential to develop into a top-class midfielder is undeniable. If Leeds can secure his services, Miller could form a formidable partnership with Tanaka, bringing a new dimension to the team’s attacking play.
