Celtic Eye Loan Move for Brighton’s Evan Ferguson Amid Interest from Rivals

Celtic are reportedly keen on signing Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson on loan in the January transfer window. According to Graeme Bailey for The Boot Room, the Scottish champions have expressed interest in the 20-year-old Irishman, who has found himself out of favor at Brighton.

Ferguson’s situation at Brighton has been complicated by the form of Danny Welbeck and Joao Pedro, which has limited his opportunities under Roberto De Zerbi. At just 20 years old, game time is crucial for Ferguson’s development, and Celtic may be able to provide him with the platform he needs.

The Irish striker has already demonstrated his potential, scoring six goals in 15 Premier League starts last season, including a hat-trick against Newcastle United. His former manager, De Zerbi, praised Ferguson’s improvement, saying: “Ferguson’s improvement has been incredible. He’s playing like an old player but he is only 18.
