Leeds United Launch Ambitious Bid for Manchester City Midfielder James McAtee
Leeds United have reportedly made an audacious bid for Manchester City midfielder James McAtee, according to former Whites player Paul Robinson.
McAtee, who has impressed during loan spells with Sheffield United in the Championship and Premier League, is currently struggling to secure consistent minutes at City due to the team’s exceptional depth.
Robinson revealed that Leeds have joined the likes of West Ham, Fulham, and other top-flight clubs in pursuing the talented midfielder. “Leeds have made an audacious bid for him,” Robinson told Football Insider.
The former Leeds player believes that Manchester City may demand a substantial transfer fee for McAtee, potentially in the range of £20-25 million or even £30 million. “And what would they [City] be getting for him in January?” Robinson questioned. “There are a lot of clubs that would take James McAtee, whether it be on a permanent or loan deal.”
However, Robinson suspects that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola may opt to retain McAtee’s services, citing the midfielder’s potential value to the team.
